‘Hold On Tightly’ reminds us how fragile we and our earth are, and how close we are to destroying the very thing we need the most. It tells us that even in the face of this daily insanity we must try to maintain our humanity toward each other. The song asks you to hold on, be strong in the face of it all, and to hold on to each other, hold on to what you believe is true. My co-writer Bryan Kessler had written most of the music, and had recorded a hot demo of the tune for me to write lyrics to.

I remember standing on the lava rocks at Anini Beach on Kauai with my Walkman and headphones listening to his smoking track looking out at the horizon and waiting for the lyrics. The band ripped into this one making it the obvious choice as the records opening track. When Michael Ruff and I performed this song live it was always the highlight of the night for me.

Bass player Cliff Hugo provides a solid rockin' bass track on this one, and continues to provide a groove-worthy performance through every track on the record.
