The ballad 'In The Rain" was one of my favorite tracks on the record, a 'Mother Natures Son' type sentiment. This song was one of the first three I had ever written, yet some forty yeas later it's subject matter continues to find its way into lines in some of my songs. You have to love the rain if you live on Kauai, so it's only natural that I wound up here.

George Devins played some sweet vibes while Jack Lee set a nice mood with his Fender Strat on the left side. Steve Edleman played his upright bass bowed at times. Fuzz played some nice brushes on this one and had a sensitive jazzish touch throughout the track. I was real happy with my vocal performance, the jizz factor tipping the scale on this one. The tune went out with a cool natural building improvisational tag.

It was raining the day I wrote this one. Borrowing my dad's '67 Plymouth, I parked in the Korvette's parking lot out in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, just a few feet from the Bay, and with a good view of the Verrazano Bridge off in the distance wrote my heart out.
