About the recording:

The studio and band line-up is the same as for 'Intimate Strangers'. Recorded at Sound Solution in Santa Monica, in 1980 with Stephen Barncard producing and recording. On the choral bridge section Barncard recorded me overdubbing the part something like 7 times, and then asked my friend and songwriting partner Diane Michelle to sing the impossibly high top note. I'm playing my Gibson ES 335 electric guitar on the left.

Soulful pianist Pete "Waz" Wasner is a successful songwriter who's has had his songs recorded by some of Nashville's most highly regarded acts. He currently plays with Vince Gill. Pete and Armando both played in Lowell George 's ill fated solo band after Little Feat broke up.

Texas-born and Houston-raised Bassist Armando Compean was and still is a masterful player and cool cat. Not only could he play deep in the pocket, but was also a skillful cook, and would feed the whole band from time to time when we rehearsed at his Santa Monica home. The brother added a lot of groove to the music and humor to the sessions. In the past Armando has played with many artists including Jonny Winter, Joe Pass and Bobby 'Blue' Bland. Of late his still gigs, records and through his association with noted producer T Bone Walker, played upright bass on the soundtrack of the Johnny Cash biography Walk The Line.
