'WindRider’, was written as an expression of my rabid love for wind surfing. Turns out there is much to be learned from this endeavor - the payoff being way more than I could have ever imagined both inward and outward. Even today when the palm fronds start rattling I head out to Haena for a session in the wind and waves.

It was great working with Judd Miller on this track. He came up with some cool and interesting sounds on his EWI. The muted Miles trumpet section, and the ascending and decending flutes at the end vamp gives an indication of what Judd can do when given a track to play with.


The Island's producer Stephen Barncard filmed a music video of 'WindRider' in 1989 and released it in April of 2009.
