'Yes or No’ was written in 1980 at the end of a stormy love affair with the impossible South African beauty Philippa Clare. We had met while swimming sans swimming attire at Point Dume beach in Malibu, and it was a nine-month roller-coaster from that moment on. Not that I ever regretted a single second of it. Her later ambivalence caused a fair amount of gnashing of teeth, and this song was the end result. Luckily, with songwriting, you can turn negativity 180 degrees in the other direction and come out with something positive. All you have to do is make it to the other side of it and you're golden. The opposite also holds true!

As always drummer Rick Schlosser gives a great feel to the track. Rick has recorded with many artists including James Taylor and Nicolette Larsen, and has just gotten off the road with Van Morrison.
